Precision Reflexology in Glastonbury
Reflexology is a holistic healing technique which works on the principle that there are energy zones that run throughout the body and reflex areas in the feet that correspond to all the major organs, glands, and body parts. From ancient texts, artifacts and illustrations we know that the early Egyptians, Japanese, Chinese and Russians worked on the feet to promote good health, so similar therapies have been used for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. Reflexology feels like a lovely, relaxing foot (or hand) massage. There are many benefits of receiving reflexology, you may find that it helps you to let go of stress and tension, and feel deeply relaxed. For people who suffer from poor circulation, experiencing cold hands and feet, you will notice that reflexology helps to improve circulation. For those people who are detoxing, reflexology is a wonderful tool for cleansing the body of toxins.
Just some of the concerns people seek reflexology treatment for are:
- Stress, anxiety or depression
- Tiredness and fatigue
- Headaches and migraines
- Digestive discomfort
- Menstrual problems
- Fertility issues
It is important to look after yourself and take time out to nurture your mind and body, especially when you are pregnant. Pregnancy is a wonderful, but sometimes uncomfortable experience; Reflexology is a lovely, safe and relaxing therapy to receive during pregnancy; It can be used to reduce any discomfort and help you to feel the joy and excitement that pregnancy brings. Reflexology gently stimulates the lymphatic system to eliminate fluid retention in the legs ankles and feet. Back pain, fatigue, insomnia, heartburn, and other digestive problems are conditions associated with pregnancy which may also be relieved with reflexology. To ensure complete safety, I ask that mothers are at least 3 months (12 weeks) pregnant before receiving pregnancy reflexology.
What to expect in a Precision Reflexology session
In the first session, I will ask you questions about your health and well-being and identify your intended outcome for treatment. You will have an opportunity to ask questions before receiving reflexology. You can then relax on to the couch as we begin the therapy. I use a cream with nourishing plant oils to massage your feet or hands. At the end, you may be given some feedback from the session, and extra lifestyle advice may be given.
